Robots Meta tag values

Robots Meta tag values
Do you know you can tell the search engine robots to whether your pages are indexed or not, enable the web site cache, isuues on Open Directory Project, and tell other things to search engines by just changing your meta tag.

This is how to do it.

In JUNE 2008 the revised Robots Exclusion Protocol added NOARCHIVE, NOODP and NOSNIPPET to the list of supported values supported by Google and MSN Live Search, and Yahoo added NOYDIR.
Why do you need to add meta tags to support as search engines ?
Because of it is better to direct (tell) the search engines, for what you need.
The default values are now assumed to be INDEX, FOLLOW, ARCHIVE, ODP, SNIPPET and YDIR.
There is no actual need to include these,
unless someone on the web team needs reminding.
So let's begin.
I think you know what is the meta tag.
It is like as follows.
<title>Should Not Be Indexed (Meta Robots noindex nofollow)
<META name="robots" content="NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW" />
above meta tag tells the search engines to "do not index our pages on your search engine"
Below is the list of options you can follow.
Do not index, but follow links

<META name="ROBOTS" content="NOINDEX, FOLLOW">

Use this for pages with many links on them, but no useful data, such as a site map. Because "follow" is the default, you don't have to include it.
Index, but do not follow links

<META name="ROBOTS" content="NOFOLLOW, INDEX ">

Use this for pages which have useful content but outdated or problematic links.
Do not index or follow links

This is for sections of a site that shouldn't be indexed and shouldn't have links followed. Putting access control, such as a password, is much better for security.
Index and follow links: default behavior

<META name="ROBOTS" content="INDEX,FOLLOW">

This is the default behavior: you don't have to include these.
Search results pages should not show "cache" link<META name="ROBOTS" content="NOARCHIVE">Useful if the content changes frequently: headlines, auctions, etc. The search engine probably still archives the information, but won't show it in the results.
Do not display the Open Directory Project (ODP) title and description for the page in search results.

<META name="ROBOTS" content="NOODP">

Danny Sullivan provides good examples of how

outdated descriptions and even titles show up when

the ODP content is used for search results.

Encourages search engines to use the page title tag, and match term in context, or META Description tag content instead of the ODP content, which may be misleading or outdated.
Do not display the Yahoo! Directory title and description for the page

<META name="ROBOTS" content="NOYDIR">

(Yahoo Slurp robot only)

Same as above, only for the Yahoo directory, and the other search indexers will ignore it.
Do not display any description or text context for this URL in search results.<META name="ROBOTS" content="NOSNIPPET">Encourages the search engines to use the title only, and to suppress the "cache" link. Might be useful if the site has special plus box listings in search results, but otherwise, not so much.

The Top 40 Torrent Sites of 2008 | Demonoid is back !

torrent downloads
torrent uploadsAs of June 25, 2008, the most popular Bit Torrent search engine sites are listed below.
while P2P file sharing technology is completely legal, many of the files traded through P2P are copyrighted. Unless you live in Canada where users are shielded from P2P lawsuits, then downloading P2P files may put you at risk for a civil lawsuit in any other country. "

Special Mention :
Some of sites include private torrent trackers,(it is said that private trackers are more speed than public trackers, and they have leeching them always which you can download at any time)
which means that usually you have to sign up with them.
some sites are not allowing sign ups at every time
But you have a way to know what trackers are open to sign up by going to http://www.btracs.com (BTRACKS)
BTRACS is an automatic information site which periodically checks closed community bittorrent trackers for being open for signup. Some closed community bittorrent trackers' signups are closed and are "invite only". Here is where BTRACS can help you. The main page is being refreshed every 10 minutes automatically. It checks all bittorrent trackers in its database and provides you the relevant information - which of these bittorrent trackers' signups are open.

Demonoid is back:
Good news to all of Demonoid.com lovers, it is now back online!
They have established themselves outside of the USA, (Ukraine)
Demonoid is still a private community.
Which require you to sign up.Signups are closed at this time.
But I have heard that demonoid is allowing signups at every weekend (usually friday)
So get tuned with the site till you get the chance. If not You must have an 'Invitation code' from an existing member.

ShareTV.org (ShareTV is dedicated to sharing television episodes and entire TV series. Find "24", "Heroes", and "Lost" episodes here.

Torrent-Finder.com (This site has been submitted recently by three readers as their personal favorite torrent search engine. It "meta-searches" 159 torrent sites as of this writing. Special thanks to Dina, Suresh, and ChaOSthEory for this submission.)

The Pirate Bay (Pirate Bay, by readership size, is the most popular torrent search site today. Pirate Bay has an immense database of 600,000+ torrents, the largest database at this time.)

has 190,000 torrents indexed as of April, 2007. Mininova is the successor to Suprnova, one of the original big torrent databases of the Web.

  1. Torrentportal.com

  2. Bitsoup Bitsoup is a growing favorite amongst P2P downloaders. As the trend towards private torrent sharing continues, you will need to signup and join as a member to participate in the Bitsoup swarm.

  3. BiteNova (formerly known as “Bi-Torrents”, BiteNova is a free Torrent site with a spartan look and fast searching format.)

  4. Torrentscan.com (a "meta-search" engine, which is a search engine that searches other search engines)

  5. LegalTorrents.com (As the name implies, this is a database of public-domain content. Thanks to Anand S. for this URL.)

  6. Isohunt.com
September, 2007: Isohunt is barring American users from connecting to American torrent trackers. American users, however, can still use Isohunt to find torrents, and connect to third party trackers.

  7. Torrentspy.com March 24, 2008: Torrentspy has voluntarily closed its doors. Instead of conforming to the American court mandates to change their privacy policies, the Torrentspy team has opted instead to cease operations. A sad day for downloaders everywhere.

  8. Torrentz.com (special thanks to reader, Jonathan R., for this link)

  9. Torrents.to

  10. Snarf It! (born from previous Suprnova influences)

  11. Torrentmatrix.com

  12. Mininova.org has 190,000 torrents indexed as of April, 2007. Mininova is the successor to Suprnova, one of the original big torrent databases of the Web.

  13. FileMP3.org

  14. TorrentBytes.net

  15. Torrentreactor.to (Torrentreactor has made a comeback from a hijacking and an uncooperative hosting service. They have moved to a different server setup and a Tonga country domain outside the USA. Read the details on their home page.)

  16. Torrentbox.com FYI: like Isohunt, Torrentbox is being sued by the MPAA as of February 28, 2006. The days for this fine search engine may be numbered.

  17. BTjunkie

  18. TorrentTyphoon.com (a unique bittorrent meta-search engine that searches several of the most popular sites. Unfortunately, it does not do a good job categorizing the torrent files themselves)

  19. Yotoshi.com

  20. The Pirate Bay (Pirate Bay, by readership size, is the most popular torrent search site today. Pirate Bay has an immense database of 600,000+ torrents, the largest database at this time.)

Anchor Text Tips That Rocket Your Rankings

The On-Page Search Engine Optimization
On-Page Search Engine Optimization Techniques
On-page SEO is the process of making changes to existing pages on your website in order to rank better in the search engines.

Your Title Tag :
It is the most influentioal thing in seo.
your title tag which goes between and < /title> is best describes the content of the page.
search engine first go to the title tag when crawling web pages.
If your title tag cotains the site key words, then you can expect better results.

Now continue with our flower example.
Your site name is 'the flower country'
one of Your page contain the article as 'red flowers'.
So you should have key word as 'red flowers'.
as well as your title tag should contain one of any key word.
Ex: : this title best optimized your page.

Keyword density:
How often your keywords appear on your page?
This is measured as a percentage, such as 5.8%. So let's say you want to rank on Google for
"asian flowers". On most pages of your site you'll want to include the text "asian flowers" and also variations of this phrase, such as "expensive asian flowers", "endemic asian flowers", "asian flowers", etc.

There's no rule, but you generally want a keyword density of about 7-12% for the keywords you want to rank for. That means that if you have 100 words on your page, 7-12 of them should be "asian", "flowers" or "endemic". You can check your keyword density at www.ranks.nl.

Keywords at the very top of the page:
You should always include your main keywords as close to the top of the page as possible, because Google will look at the text on your site from top-to-bottom and will treat the text closer to the top of the page with a higher importance.

Header tags:
You absolutely MUST include the keywords you want to rank for in atag on your site. H1 tags tell the search engines that the text between them is important, and you should aim for just onetag on each page as close to the top as you can. In our example you might useHigh value asian flowers on one page and 'expensive red asian flowers'on another page.

Internal linking structure:
You want to use the keywords you want to rank for to link between pages on your site. For example, on your home page you might link to a category page using the text "red flowers" and on that category page you would link back to your home page with the text "red asian flowers". This is an internal two-way link, and although internal links don't hold nearly as much weight as external ones, you should link to different pages on your site using a few different combinations of your keywords.
Link Building and Link Development
Links from trusted authoritative websites tell search engines that your website is more reliable and valuable.

Common SEO Problems:
You can build a website with great content and institute an effective marketing plan, yet still be foiled by technical issues. Here are some of the most common problems:

A common mistake is blocking search engine spiders from a section or entire site you want indexed.
Google's Webmaster Central has a tool to let you verify that your robots.txt file is performing how you'd like.

learn how to create a robots.txt file
1. A robots.txt file communicates what pages or sections of your website you want search engines to crawl.
if you want to list all of your web pages on search engine, then alow the robots to crawl your web pages by placing a 'robots.txt file' in each directory of your web site.

What is a robots.txt file:
it is vary simple - Do this : open your notepad and insert this

User-Agent: *
Allow: /

then save it as robots.txt, and place it in each directory.

Response and Header Codes

* When your web server serves a page there is a special code that tells the browser or spider the status of the file served.

1. A '200 response code' means the page serves normally.
2. If not configured correctly, some web servers will serve a 200 code even when a file is missing.
3. This can create a problem when search engines index a lot of blank empty pages.
4. A 404 is the response code when a page or file doesn't exist.
5. To improve usability, set up a custom 404 page with a message explaining what happened, a search box, and links to popular pages from your website.

Duplicate Content

The content from any page should only exist on one URL.

1. If the same content exists under multiple URLs, search engines will interpret this as duplicate content.
2. Subsequently, the search engines will try to make a best guess as to the best URL for your content.
3. If this condition is true for a large amount of your pages, your website may be judged low quality and be filtered out of the search results.

Duplicate Titles
* Every page of your website should have a unique title. When a search engine sees duplicate titles it will try to judge the better page and eliminate the other from the index.

Duplicate Meta Descriptions
* If a large number of pages have identical or very similar meta descriptions, these pages may be filtered for low quality and excluded from the index.

Poor or Low Quality Content
* In an attempt to create a large number of pages very quickly, many people will employ automated solutions that end up generating pages with fill-in-the-blank or gibberish content. Search engines are getting better at catching this condition and filtering these sites from the index.

How To Get Top 10 Position In Google

If you are a website owner, you will definitely want to get your website rank well in Google organic listings for keywords phrases that are most relevant to what you are offering. Getting your site to the first page of Google is not an impossible dream, as long as you choose the right keywords for your optimization plan.

Do not make the mistake of trying to optimize one-word phrase such as "flowers" or "golf". There are 2 reasons why you should not do this. First, it is almost impossible for a new site to get into the first page of Google for these types of keyword phrases, as it is way too competitive.

Secondly, a good search engine optimization plan is to optimize keyword phrases that are more targeted. For example, "golf" is too general and the traffic that comes to your website may not be very eager to buy golf equipments from you. They may just be interested to find out more about golf. On the other hand, if you optimize keyword phrases like "discount golf clubs" or "used golf clubs" you stand a higher chance to convert your website visitors to customers.

Now let me share with you 4 best SEO tips to get to the top on Google:

1. Choose the right keywords. Again is back to what I have shared with you above. Choosing the right keywords for your optimization plan will determine whether you succeed in getting to the top on Google. Choose keyword wisely and make sure that they keywords you choose have substantial search volume to justify your effort.

2. Good onsite optimization. A good onsite optimization is the basic of all successful SEO case studies. You need to place keywords in areas such as the title tags, meta tags, header tags, alt tags and content. By getting a keyword targeted domain name such as "mygolfclubs", you will score extra point with Google.

3. Good original content. Google dislikes non-original content and penalize duplicate content. If the content of your website is not original, no matter how much optimization you do to it, it will not rank high. It is definitely worth your effort to spend time developing quality and original content. Update your site with fresh content frequently and you will score another big point with Google.

4. Intensive linking campaign. Google takes into account the number of links pointing back to your website. With more links pointing back to your site, it shows that your site is important and popular. However, links pointing back to your website need to be relevant to what your site is providing. Relevancy plays a very important role if you want to achieve successful optimization. You can get links pointing back to your site by submitting your website to directories, and writing articles and distribute them to the various article directories online.

With good organic ranking on Google, you can be sure to see a surge of traffic to your website and hence more exposure of your business.

Mozilla shows Firefox Mobile concept

Mozilla shows Firefox Mobile concept
Now that Mozilla is all set for next week’s Firefox 3
Download Day, the company’s head of user experience, Aza Raskin, has taken some time to show off a video with the latest developments in the mobile version of the popular open source browser.Despite being just a concept video, it provides an early look at how Mozilla is tackling the issue of having to browse short of screen real-estate by hiding all navigation buttons and allowing the user to invoke them by simple touch gestures. Other interesting features include opening up new tabs, kinetic scrolling, and zooming in or out.

All in all, Firefox should be a welcome addition to the mobile-browsing experience; hopefully they’ll be able to bring as much innovation, usability, and extensibility to the mobile space as they have in the desktop. Check out the video of Firefox Mobile “in action” after the jump.

Create a your own search engine.

We all know the Google Advanced Search page that lets you refine your searches and find what you need faster. But how many of us understand the complicated URLs the search engines generates?

Well I am not saying that I’m some sort of expert but here are some information regarding the URLs generated by Google. Let’s start by looking at one such URL:

You don’t understand much and it looks quite long but it doesn’t have to be this way. Many of the variables included are not even used in the query. Here are the basics:

What you should know is that you always start with: http://www.google.com/search?. This tells Google it’s an advanced search and that there are some variables to come. Besides, remember that all the variables must be connected with ampersands (&; ex. as_q=nintendo+wii&hl=ro) and if you want to use more than one search terms just use ‘+’ (ex. nintendo+wii) between them. Speaking of variables here are the most important tags you can use:

as_oq -> This tells Google to find pages in which at least instance of nintendo OR wii is found
as_q -> This means that you look for nintendo and wii in the same page
as_epq -> Google translates this as a Google search of “nintendo wii”, searches the exact phrase ‘nintendo wii’
num -> The number of results you want displayed, it ranges from 0 to 100. If you set num to 0 you will get the ‘No match found” message
safe -> If you set this to active the Google Safe Search is on and the adult material will be filtered
as_eq -> Use this to exclude a term from your search
as_qdr -> Shows only results that have been updated in the given time interval. Possible values: y (year), m6 (6 months), m3 (3 months).
as_sitesearch -> Limits the search to a specific domain or TLD (.us; .gov; .co.uk; .ro; etc)
as_occt -> This is set by default to ‘any’ but if you change it you can search in: title, url, links

The goal of this article is not exactly for you to use from now on hand-made search URLs but yo better understand how the Google search engine works and if you please to create some URLs for yourself.

-> Note that when you create your own URL it should not be this long as you can easily get lost in all the variables used

What are the best scene releases indexing sites?

What is the scene?

The scene aka the warez scene is the pretty unknown worldwide network where people trade pirated goods, like dvd's, movies, games, applications etc.
Warez refers primarily to copyrighted material traded in violation of its copyright license. It does not refer to commercial for-profit software counterfeiting. First, warez is released by releasegroups, groups which are specialized in publishing warez. They copy a dvd or break the security of game, and will make it available for other people, as a so-called release. When these releasegroups finish a release it will be uploaded to sites. These sites are very fast private ftp-servers, and the first stadium in the distribution of a release. Eventually, at the end of the distribution, the releases are available for everyone on p2p-software.

The speed of this worldwide network is enormous. Within minutes a release can be copied to hundreds of other sites. Within an hour, it's available on thousands of sites and fxp boards. Within a day or two it's available on newsgroups, irc and in the end, on p2p-software.

As you may already know, most of the pirated content on the Internet the scene originate from When a scene group releases something (let it be a movie, game or an app) the release is usually announced to other members of the scene through IRC announce bots (Pre channels). It is a well known fact that it is not easy to have access to a pre channel. So how do we know which stuff is released by the scene?

Luckily, there are publicly
accessible HTTP sites that index latest scene releases, Nuke information as well as .NFOs. We have presented several such sites we have used below. If you know others, feel free to drop in a comment.

Dupecheck Project
- Probably the best and the most frequently updated. Obtains info from multiple pre bots. Does not have .NFO information.

- Another decent indexer. Updates sometimes slow. Clean interface.

VCD Quality
- Exclusive movie release index site. Includes sample screens, .NFO and IMDB links for almost every release.

- Contains .NFOs and has a ratings system. Frequent updates.

- Another excellent scene release index site. Currently down due to a DDOS attack.

- Update speeds somewhat similar to that of NFOrce. Automatically generates links to search for the release on popular bittorrent sites and other potential download locations.

- Another indexing site. Update intervals are long.

- Console and PC game releases indexing site.

NFO Hump
Games, DVDs, Films, PC games, playstation and Xbox and other console games, XXX .

As you may notice, some of these sites do not carry a download link to indexed scene releases. But once you know that the release is out there, just search for it on your favorite bit torrent tracker (or E2DK server, FTP site, Newsgroup or whatever) :p
